About Dionne Van Zyl Scholarship

Dionne Van Zyl Scholarship has been established by Dr. Dionne Van Zyl, the CEO of i49 Group, Inc., based in Santa Barbara, California. With a rich history spanning over 34 years in high technology and financial services, Dr. Van Zyl has been a beacon of leadership and innovation. He has held multiple CEO positions, formed strategic alliances with Fortune 100 companies, and has been instrumental in the creation and restructuring of businesses to enhance their economic viability.

Dr. Van Zyl’s journey began with a BSc (Engineering) degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He served as an officer in the South African military’s Electronic Warfare regiment and later pursued a BA (Theology) degree, becoming a full-time pastor at the Hatfield Christian Church in Pretoria. His commitment to community and fostering growth led him to be a pivotal figure in the formation of Interyouth, a national movement in South Africa aimed at promoting inter-racial harmony.
